Port Facilities
On the Northern Arm of the Inner Harbour of Visakhapatnam Port on the Bay of Bengal, Nalco has established mechanized storage and ship handling facilities for exporting Alumina in bulk and importing Caustic Soda.

The salient features:
  • Maximum ship size - 35000 DWT
  • Alumina reception - 48 x 53 tonne pay-load wagons
  • Alumina storage - 3 x 25000 ton RCC Silos
  • Ship loading rate - 2200 tph

These facilities are being upgraded to handle higher volumes of exports, following expansion of production capacities.
